Arrangements for Children

Are you uncertain about how to plan for the future and what that might entail? Do you and your ex-partner need assistance in communicating with each other to make decisions?

When a relationship ends, it can be a challenging time for both you and your children. How you manage your separation will have an impact on your children, and it can often feel daunting to communicate with your ex-partner and come to an agreement that works for everyone involved. For some parents, existing arrangements for the children have broken down, leading to difficulties in agreeing on the best way forward.

Harmony Mediation Services offers mediation to support you in reaching agreements on various issues, such as where the children will reside, how they will spend time with both parents, how to share important information about their wellbeing, or how to divide expenses.

Our mediators understand the significance of these matters for families, and we will help you explore options relevant to your situation. We are experienced and skilled at working with parents in dispute, always prioritising the wellbeing and needs of the child. We remain neutral and are not here to take sides, but rather to assist parents in communicating effectively to find practical solutions.

If children are deemed old enough, we can provide a specialised mediator to include the child's perspective as part of the parents' mediation. Please refer to [link] for further information on Child Inclusive Mediation.

In all our child mediation cases, we prioritise the needs of the child. This child-centred approach to mediation facilitates parents in reaching mutually agreed arrangements that prioritise the child's welfare.

Being part of the Ministry of Justice Voucher scheme means each case receives a £500 contribution towards the cost of mediation.
